Scientific questions:

• How can the biologically active not just the delivered drug dose be determined?

• How can pulmonary in vitro cell systems, cultured at the air-liquid- interface, be used for fast, efficient and real-time screening of drugs?

• How can inhaled drugs be targeted specifically to the site of interest (e.g. bronchial or alveolar region, specific cell types such as type II pneumozytes)?
